Detailed History
Eleven series 3 Bristol VRT/SL3/6LXB's with ECW bodywork and Gardner six-cylinder diesel engines were bought new by Southern Vectis in 1977 and entered service in National Bus Company Leaf Green & White livery. These and subsequent deliveries of Bristol VRT's featured exposed towing points on the front valance, otherwise they were identical to NDL652R / NDL653R & NDL654R previously delivered in 1976.

They were repainted into deregulation Emerald Green & Cream livery in:
February 1986: ODL666R [666] (early livery with dark green wheels, received standard livery in November 1990)
September 1986: ODL664R [664] & ODL667R [667]
